Imagine a Community that:
...fully immerses you into studying the drums… alongside other like-minded drummers who will support and help you along the journey… at a very high level.
Instead of expensive one-on-one lessons where you see a teacher once a week, or biweekly, or monthly… then are left to your own devices to make sense of that lesson and how to practice it… this WILL give you 24/7 support & constant forward motion.
Training drummers on all of the important and often overlooked technical tools… and mastering how each one will impact your drumming… and how to effectively develop & apply these tools to your playing each day to eventually achieve mastery on the drums.
Where everything is “Outcome” driven with each phase working toward a particular performance and Career outcome… When you know where you are going the path to get there becomes much clearer.
That’s curated by Jay Fenichel and all other high level students and teachers. You will become a “Teacher” in this program… which will increase your understanding of this material.
This is a Mastermind… We DON’T want lone wolves… We are gonna build and update this together and in real-time.
Where the focus is on interaction, implementation and collaboration (not long videos courses that you are watching alone)
That feels like hanging out with friends (but with real Drumming results and outcomes) where you eventually become a Rockstar on the drums.)
Here’s how it works:
Phase 1 — Reprogramming your Practice mindset… Instead of wasting hours in the woodshed… learn to practice in a way that is efficient and actually get you results quickly.
Phase 2 — Developing Speed & Balance- Drums are physical and everyone has the same muscles… this will show you how to tap into and develop those muscles so you can have effortless SPEED and Balance when you play…
Phase 3 — Developing Your Vocabulary - You can’t speak if you don’t know the language. This will help you become a master of the basic language of drums.
Phase 4 — Are you boring when you play drums? This phase teaches you how to hook your audience with your playing by create melody in your drumming, on the fly.
Phase 5 — Secret To Chops… The Fancy “Slick” stuff that drops everyone’s jaws!
Phase 6 — Getting your limbs to work together so you can play anything!
Phase 7 — Learn to Apply all of these techniques to improvise and create engaging drum parts on the fly.

Stephanie was a self taught drummer only playing about a year before she joined the mentorship... part of my "1st Pancake" group. Her final outcome was to have the confidence to play in a regular gigging band in the Chicago area. After the mentorship she immediately began auditioning and landed a spot with a busy working band and is now playing professionally every weekend!
Adam has only been a drummer for a few years. He had a private teacher before this Mastermind but he has just skyrockets in the past few month of joining this program! Take a look at some of his journey...
Angelo is working a a Greek rhythm that is in 7/8 time signature... He was having a lot of trouble finding a certain rhythm inside of that 7/8 time signature... He was working on it for days before bringing it up to me in class and this is what happened...
Stephan has been working on building a social media following by documenting his drumming education journey... In a matter of month we really helped him get his time dialed in...
Correy was having this issues with his drumrolls being out of time... What Jay Call's a "Hail Mary Roll" because you just roll and pray you hit beat 1... After that we started working towards audiating those drum rolls and using them in phrasing...
Dani is a huge Aaron Comess fan and decided to cover "What Time Is It" by The Spin Doctors for their monthly outcome performance... After an amazing performance for the mastermind, Dani went on to post this to Instagram... Immediately, Aaron Comess from the Spin Doctors Commented on the performance and even shared it to the Spin Doctor's Instagram stories!
Every drummer knows the famous groove to 7 Days by Sting with Vinnie playing drums... (and if you're a drummer and you don't know that track, you need to go find it it and listen to it right now!!!) But this is a 5/8 groove with an overlapping 5/4 meter... then Vinnie messes with that meter by adding some odd grouping accents... It's a real polymeter nightmare.
Dillon came in as a more advanced Jazz Player... We've been workingworking towards opening up his technique, vocabulary and confidence and he's already taking it to the moon!
