Stephanie was a self taught drummer only playing about a year before she joined the mentorship... part of my "1st Pancake" group. Her final outcome was to have the confidence to play in a regular gigging band in the Chicago area. After the mentorship she immediately began auditioning and landed a spot with a busy working band and is now playing professionally every weekend!
Adam has only been a drummer for a few years. He had a private teacher before this Mastermind but he has just skyrockets in the past few month of joining this program! Take a look at some of his journey...
Angelo is working a a Greek rhythm that is in 7/8 time signature... He was having a lot of trouble finding a certain rhythm inside of that 7/8 time signature... He was working on it for days before bringing it up to me in class and this is what happened...
Stephan has been working on building a social media following by documenting his drumming education journey... In a matter of month we really helped him get his time dialed in...
Correy was having this issues with his drumrolls being out of time... What Jay Call's a "Hail Mary Roll" because you just roll and pray you hit beat 1... After that we started working towards audiating those drum rolls and using them in phrasing...
Dani is a huge Aaron Comess fan and decided to cover "What Time Is It" by The Spin Doctors for their monthly outcome performance... After an amazing performance for the mastermind, Dani went on to post this to Instagram... Immediately, Aaron Comess from the Spin Doctors Commented on the performance and even shared it to the Spin Doctor's Instagram stories!
Every drummer knows the famous groove to 7 Days by Sting with Vinnie playing drums... (and if you're a drummer and you don't know that track, you need to go find it it and listen to it right now!!!) But this is a 5/8 groove with an overlapping 5/4 meter... then Vinnie messes with that meter by adding some odd grouping accents... It's a real polymeter nightmare.
Dillon came in as a more advanced Jazz Player... We've been workingworking towards opening up his technique, vocabulary and confidence and he's already taking it to the moon!
